Rogaland is varied: the farmland of Jæren, the fjords and slopes of Ryfylke, and the heaths towards Agder. Red deer are the main big game in the fjord districts, and roe deer are found in the lowlands.
Jæren and the coast are known for goose and duck hunting. The eastern heaths belong to the Setesdal Ryfylke wild reindeer area, which also offers ptarmigan.
