Black grouse are hunted in birch forest and along bog edges, often on the same card as ptarmigan and hare. They sit tighter than ptarmigan and readily go up into trees.
Forest bird hunting is done both with dogs and by stalking, and it is a hunt where you return to the same places year after year.
